The laser is used to improve the skin, even out the color, remove imperfections and reduce wrinkles.

Dr. Léonard Bergeron uses a variety of medical and surgical grade lasers to meet your needs: medical grade IPL (pulsed light), 1064 (Nd:YAG), ablative and fractional CO2.

Frequent indications:

  • Face/neck/eyelid wrinkles
  • Dark spots ("age spots") and melasma
  • small blood vessels
  • redness of the skin
  • Rosacea

How to prepare for the intervention?

It is important that the skin is not tanned for most treatments.

It must be ensured that there is no makeup and that the area to be treated is shaved if necessary.

The complete list of medications you are taking before the procedure must be brought.

Notify the team if you are prone to cold sores.

How is the intervention carried out?

Some treatments require the skin to be frozen with an ointment 1 hour before the procedure, others do not require the skin to be frozen.

Most laser treatments last 30 minutes to 1 hour.

How long is the recovery?

Some treatments allow you to return to work the next day, others may require intensive skin care for 1 to 2 weeks. A work stoppage may therefore be necessary if you work with the public.

Skin care is required after most treatments. SPF 50 sun protection is required for 6 to 12 months after the procedure. Tanning is absolutely contraindicated because the treated area remains sensitive to the sun for 6-12 months after treatment.

Post-treatment care and sun protection are as important as the treatment itself.

How many treatments are needed?

This varies depending on the indication and the type of laser used. Some treatments require at least 3 sessions spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. Other types of treatments are done in a single session.

It is sometimes possible that additional sessions are necessary to achieve your goal, or that different treatments are necessary.

Some treatments require maintenance sessions afterwards, while others do not.

Come and consult Dr. Léonard Bergeron to assess your needs and determine the most appropriate laser treatment while taking into account the recovery period you need.
